Flash back to about 5 months ago when I just started realizing the power of discrimination. All my life I was told that some animals (horses, cats, dogs) were my friends.. Precious creatures that I could own, love, feed and cry over. While other animals like pigs, cows and chickens were not equal. They could be slaughtered by the masses, and I shouldn’t question why. It was hard to understand that horses feel the same we cows… I didn’t want to leave the comforts of cultural tradition and mass media. But I did. I know my opinion isn’t “better” than yours, but this realization has changed my life like nothing before. I listened to my heart and am doing what makes rational sense to me. I encourage anyone reading this to make any decision based on passion and love. I can’t explain how freeing it is to realize all sentiment beings experience pain, comfort in companionship and love for their families just like us humans. Cow, pig, whale, kitten, child, bird…we all bleed and we all love this crazy universal feeling called life.
